When is the film coming out?
We are planning to release the film on television in June and for sale in retail outlets by September via DVD/VHS. There will definitely be some bonuses on the DVD.

How can I get a copy of the film to show at my school, church, synagogue, mosque, community group, etc.?
We would like to be able to show the film at as many schools and community groups as possible, so please send your request to the website including information about your organization, time you would like to show the film and how much money you can pay for the screening.

PURPOSE
P.S.P. is a non-profit organization committed to raise the consciousness of youths, desire of youth's interest in education and raise cultural consciousness.

GOALS AND EXPECTED BENEFITS
P.S.P.'s goals and expected benefits are to restore the moral fiber of the youth's lives, homes, relationships, neighborhoods, family and community. PSP's programs hope to help eliminate self-abuse, youth crime, educational dropouts, drugs, welfare, and alcohol dependency , low self-esteem, fatherless households, escalating criminal arrests and convictions, intra-group color and social-economical discrimination all of which continuously and collectively perpetuates counter productive behavior. This in turn will benefit the communities, as well as produce productive minds-sets, and goals amongst the youths counteracting inevitable behavioral patterns that are sure to arise as a direct result of upbringing and surroundings.
We will have more information available once Hook gets the program officially started.

What was it like making the movie?
We came across an article about a street ballplayer from Oakland who during his youth rivaled the skills of many NBA superstars. His life did not turn out the way theirs, did basking in the glory of playing in the NBA, he can only play behind bars. After writing a letter to Hook in prison, we received a phone call that changed our lives. As the conversation was restricted to only fifteen minutes, we had very little time to convince Hook to take part in our documentary. After months of telephone calls and letters, we decided to make the trip to visit Hook and film his extraordinary life story. Words cannot express how we felt when we walked onto the A Quad at the Men,s Penal Colony in San Luis Obispo, California and finally saw with our own eyes the incredible talent that Hook possessed. After watching him play basketball, we got the chance to sit with Hook in his cell alone and talk openly and honestly about how a person with so much talent could end up incarcerated. What we hope you see in our film, is not the basketball player, Demetrius 'Hook' Mitchell, but the human being that is behind the dunks, the no looks passes and the rebounds. Rarely do you come across a person like Demetrius 'Hook' Mitchell.

Is Fader Films making any other movies?
Fader Films is producing their second film entitled On the Outs, which is a fictional film about three teenage girls who are incarcerated in a juvenile detention center in Jersey City, NJ. The film stars Judy Marte (Indie Spirit Nominee - Raising Victor Vargas), Paola Mendoza and Anny Mariano. We hope to release the film in film festivals in the fall.

How long is Hook in prison?
Hook received a five year sentence for robbing a Blockbuster Video in 1999.
